Video Optimization Basics: Part 4

SEO. I am sure you have heard of the word, but not totally familiar to the power it brings a person’s career or business. Decades ago, the internet was declared a dead-end business, they said it was nothing but a bubble, they all laughed at the concept. Guess what, it was the traditionalists’ worst mistake. Businessmen have now expanded their marketing strategy to include in their budget SEO marketing services for YouTube, Twitter, Google, Yahoo, Facebook, Pinterest and Blogs, among others. Everyone wants to be on top of their game, meaning being on the top search every single day.

You must be wondering, now how do I do that? Simple. Take note: Backlinks lead to a gold mine. What are backlinks?  Also known as inbound inlinks, incoming links, inward links or inlinks, inbasic link technology. Don’t get a nose-bleed yet, these are basic terminologies you have to get used to. Backlinks are defined as any link received by a web node, namely a web page, website, directory, or top domain, from another web node.

Take for example a certain Ms. Sally posted a tasty pastry recipe on her website www.tastypastryfromsally.com, Chloe saw the posted video, which was also available and linked to YouTube, and reposted that video of “Ms. Sally creating her all original delicious Chocolate Mint Angel food cake recipe” on her own website. It will show on Ms. Sally’s website that she in now connected or linked to Chloe’s site. The more backlinks, the better.

Now say for example, all of Chloe’s website subscribers shared the same video recommended by Chloe since they trust her judgment. Wow! Can you just imagine how many backlinks would now show on Ms. Sally’s video? Cool huh!

Google for example uses backlinks to determine the page rank of a particular website. Having backlinks grants more power that equate to popularity online, it displays other web pages that link to your posts.
It takes passion to create to succeed in the SEO video optimized industry.

WARNING: If you intend to this by yourself, be prepared to put in a lot of time and effort into it.
Read on to arm yourself on the SEO video imperatives. Here are tips on how to start up doing Basic Video SEO Optimization (Part4)

7. Link to your own site

I have explained the basics of back linking and how it can work for you on the first part of this article. Your video upload on Vimeo or YouTube is just the start. By doing this, you have used the video as a gateway for people to view other content on your website. Uploading more videos and making backlinks to other related content or relevant videos will increase your search engine standing for your website. The more backlinks, the merrier.

8. Use Google Webmaster Tools to create a video sitemap

If you have a budget, I’d recommend you find the right company who can cater to your SEO marketing needs. Hire them for their exceptional SEO marketing services and successful video campaigns. They can regularly submit video sitemaps for specific videos you want search engines to find. NO budget? I’d recommend you download the Google Webmaster Tool PDF on your computer. Then, read, research, practice and finalize your own work. Good luck!

Once done, Google as a search engine can now find your video easily, through the web of chaos, and index the content. Take note that keywords should appear in the anchor text that links to videos featured on the site map. Whether or not you intend to hire an SEO company, I really recommend you still download a copy of How to use Google Webmaster Tools for creating video sitemaps. This should give you what to need to do it yourself one day.
